On Sunday, March 6, Lifeline got a chance to be the hands and feet of Jesus to a group of teenagers and their adult leaders that were in an accident just down the road from the church.

The group, from St. John's United Methodist Church in Aiken, was on the way home from a weekend retreat in the mountains when the bus they were in had mechanical problems, which caused the power steering to go out among other things, and the bus ended up on its side in a ditch. Thankfully, only a couple of minor injuries were sustained, as the bus had gotten down to a low speed before it rolled into the ditch.

Lifeline's and Crossroads Baptist Church's vans, along with various emergency vehicles, transported the teens and leaders to Lifeline to allow them use of the facility, and they were able to stay there to wait for everyone to be picked up by famlies.

One of the leaders expressed how overwhelmed she was by the way the community in general and Lifeline in particular had been such a blessing in the whole situation. She said, "It is no mistake that your name is Lifeline, because you have all been a Lifeline for us today. I believe that the church is not just something that happens inside four walls, and today has been a demonstration of exactly that."

One of the teens and one of the leaders each wrote a thank you note (pictured above) and sent them to us.

Thank you, those of you Lifeline people that jumped in and helped wherever needed. You showed Jesus' love to a group of strangers, and they will probably always remember that day.
